Apollos facilitates a biblical approach to strategic planning and developing these competencies in leaders based upon a process that includes:
- Visioneering– or taking a sense of holy discontent, dreaming / brainstorming about a better future and developing a picture or vision of that preferred state – of what could or should be. The leader seeks confirmation that the ‘burden’ and vision are within God’s will for the ministry through insights from godly people and observations of how God is working to open doors and remove barriers.
- Purpose / Mission– defining the reasons for existence of the ministry.
- Objectives– derived from what the ministry is, should and will be – representing critical success factors. These must be operational, provide focus and discipline.
- Goals– steps to be taken to achieve objectives; conceivable, believable, achievable, measurable, desirable and mandatory.
- Realization Procedures – specific statements of conditions to be met to reach goals; typically associated with tasks, performance measures and milestones.
The leader and his team learn these principles using Apollos developed templates and are then released to independently develop plans. These plans are often discussed in the Leadership Consortia to obtain mentor and peer feedback.
