Strategies

Inspired, servant leadership provides the pathway for missional effectiveness of the Church. The Apollos leadership development philosophy emphasizes “leaders sharpening leaders” (Prov. 27:17) through:

  • Intentional biblical discipleship and mentoring patterned after Jesus’ interactions with His disciples and the mentor – protégé interactions of leaders like the Apostle Paul with Timothy and Titus and Moses with Joshua.
  • Organically formed learning cells or ‘Leadership Consortia’ where like-minded leaders partner together to grow as leaders.

The process promotes continuous spiritual growth, character development and equipping to enhance leadership competencies and capacities for greater ministry effectiveness       (Eph. 4:1-7, 11-13).

The Apollos mentor – protégé relationships and Leadership Consortia exhibit the following characteristics:

  • Christ-centered
    • Lives that exhibit growing relationships and communion with the Lord.
    • Expanded consciousness of Kingdom purposes, God’s calling and missionary identity.
    • Cultivated hearts that resonate with the Lord’s heart.
  • Commission
    • As apostolic leaders with Kingdom growth agenda.
    • As passionate communicators of the gospel message.
  • Commitment
    • To life-long learning and realization of one’s full God-given competencies and capacities as a leader.
    • To involvement in a leadership consortium or learning cell which serves as an instrument for leadership development.
    • To raising up, equipping and replicating a new generation of leaders through modeling, coaching and experiential learning.
  • Community
    • Encouraging authentic fellowship, mutual support and relational empowerment.
    • Stimulating cross-cultural and interdenominational relationships.
    • Organic networking of relationships and Kingdom partnerships.
  • Catalytic Action
    • Encouraging a bias to action, calculated risk and change within one’s ministry context.
    • Targeting the community outside the walls of the church in facilitating transformation.
    • Recruiting, preparing and releasing God’s people for service.

Encouraging Spirit-led, abiding lives for God’s glory.
