The Ministry Diagnostic (MD) model includes Dimensions that focus on key ministry programs that facilitate:
- Growing- in relationship with Jesus Christ (2 Pet. 3:18, Matt. 5:6, 1 Pet. 2:2),
- Connecting- in Biblical community (Gen. 2:18, John 13:35, Rom. 12:5),
- Serving- in one’s God-given ministry (John 13:5, Rev. 4:11, Rom. 12:1, Col. 3:23),
- Sharing- the message of Jesus Christ (Matt. 28:19-20, 1 Pet. 3:15).
- Teaching & Worship- ministry elements typically occurring during worship services (Deut. 6:5-7, John 4:24, Acts 2:42-47)
Additionally, the Spiritual Journeys Dimension focuses on defining a congregation or ministry profile of where people are and how they are progressing on their spiritual journeys. The Culture & Environment Dimension focuses on the overall climate in the church or para-church ministry including perceptions of staff effectiveness and approachability.
Apollos MD methods have several key strengths:
- The ability to identify ministry-wide and program-specific strengths and weaknesses that are driving the spiritual climate and ministry effectiveness,
- The ability to interdict demographics or theolographics that fall short of ministry ‘norms’.
- The ability to predict the direction of future ministry effectiveness based upon the magnitude of metric trends.
