The centerpiece of the Ministry Diagnostics (MD) resource is a survey instrument that measures the spiritual climate within a church or ministry as well as overall missional effectiveness. Indicators of spiritual growth and characteristics of highly effective ministries are captured in a ‘model’that provides measurements in a consistent and repeatable manner and enables trending and comparisons between demographic or theolographic groups. The Dimensions and Attributes of the MD model are consistent with Acts 2:42-47 and align with spiritual disciplines essential to transformation in becoming fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ (2 Cor. 5:17-20,Phil. 2:12-13).
The MD can be followed by a Facilitated Self-Assessment (FSA) where leaders triage of the diagnostic data developed by the MD. Apollos becomes involved by facilitating buy-in with key strengths and weaknesses and agreement on priorities,e.g. areas that if changed could significantly influence ministry results and lead to outcomes with impact. Such agreements are followed by the development or adjustment of Ministry Strategic Plans. These activities result in task action plans and provisions for communications, monitoring and feedback that are critical to major change initiatives.
